My name is Caneel and I'm a SAHM. And a WAHM. Due to pregnancy complications and the loss of our first child, I made the decision to quit my job as a newspaper reporter and be stress-free for my second pregnancy, and then chose to stay at home with our daughter. Now we have two daughters.
I have "Type A" personality anyway, so few decisions I make are impulse. I research, and research, and then research some more before making any decision -- even something as small as an online book purchase (I read book reviews and then look for coupon codes!). Add two daughters -- a toddler and an infant -- in the mix, and I can get just plain neurotic. No amount of research is enough for me! My friends and family are constantly asking me for various resources and recommendations. I finally thought: Why not put it all on a website and make it available to everyone? Making it especially friendly for parents who are choosing to stay at home, or parents who need information but don't have time to get it because they are working out of the home.
This website, in addition to a little writing I try to make time for and various other projects (including selling Watkins since 2007), officially make me a WAHM now.
