We all need to stop and take a deep, relaxing breath at times. Life can get so busy and we can forget to do something for ourselves, or even something fun with our family or spouses. Before you know it, tension is high in relationships and in your body. Here are some ideas on how to get rid of some of that stress.

Travel

TravelZoo is one of the best places for travel deals. If you just want to get away, but don't really care where and are wanting a great deal, check out their Top 20, which is updated every week!

There are so many other travel deal websites out there. I can't tell you if one is better than the other, so I'm not listing any of them. Just type travel deals into google and a ton of them will come up.

My best advice when you are planning a trip somewhere: go to the websites of specific attractions you'll be visiting, as well as the chamber of commerce for that city. Many times you can find a wealth of coupons to give huge discounts and/or free stuff. Also type the city name and the word "coupons" into google and you'll be able to find great stuff, too!

You should also check out the forecast of your designation before you pack! You never know what might happen! You can easily check the National Weather Service forecast by typing the city and state on this page.

Pamper Yourself!

Here's an article I enjoyed: 10 affordable ways

Reading is a wonderful way to let cares melt away, especially if you read while soaking in a nice hot bath with a warm cup of herbal tea or hot chai. Check out my store, where I have book recommendations and a book of the month!

Best, cheapest beauty tip EVER! Plain, non-iodized salt! My aunt told me once that she was using plain salt for a facial. I tried it and love it! First, you steam your face, and then make a kind of paste out of about a tablespoon non-iodized salt and a few drops of hot water and gently rub on like an exfoliant, leaving on for two or three minutes. If you'd like a mini-manicure, don't rinse it off your hands and rub the rest of it into your hands like you would if you were applying lotion. Rinse it all off with warm water. You'll be amazed at how soft your skin is, and a bottle of salt will last forever and only costs about a dollar!

Get a massage! I know it's money, but if you can afford it there are few better ways to melt the tension! Better yet, if you can find a day-spa type of a place, you can get spa treatment with your massage! If you can't afford a full-body massage or are uncomfortable with getting one, then consider getting a chair massage or manicure or pedicure.

Entertainment

Considering a movie, whether going to the theater or renting it? Don't know much about it? See the sites below.

Plugged In is my favorite site for movie reviews. It's from a Christian perspective and is sometimes very conservative, but it gives great details about the movies. You have to use your own judgment when you read it, whether the things that bother them will bother you, but they will give great details about the tone of the movie and any potentially objectionable content. It's especially great if you are considering the movie for whether your kids or teenagers should be allowed to watch it.

Leonard Maltin gives pretty good movie reviews, in my opinion. Just type a movie name into the search box on the left and see what comes up!

Movie Review Query is where you need to go if you want to be overwhelmed with reviews for any movie. It finds pretty much all the reviews that have been written about particular movies.
