COUPON CODES??

Shopping online? Don't checkout until you've checked out these sites! If you're already familiar with online shopping, you may or may not know what "promotional code" or "coupon code," or even "discount code" is referring to. These are wonderful little combinations, usually of both letters and numbers but sometimes one or the other, that may provide you with significant savings, like a percentage off your purchase, or free shipping. You don't want to go online shopping until you're armed with your codes! The sites below are my favorite places to check for coupon codes. I usually check all of them, because sometimes one will have better codes than the others.

Here's a site you may want to visit for consumer reports that are parent-friendly: Mom Gadget

Awarded for Shopping!

If you're a mom, don't go shopping online until you've joined Club Mom. (FREE!) Click here to join ClubMom  It's a great group for mothers of all types and ages. If you do online shopping at all, ClubMom is a must. You can get points that add up and equal very good prizes. After being a member less than a year, I was eligible for some significant gift certificates to some of my favorite stores, such as Bed, Bath and Beyond, as well as many other great prize choices. It's a club to celelbrate moms, and they do a good job of it. Also, there is always some type of sweepstake(s) going on exclusively for members. You will also get great coupons in the mail from Bed, Bath and Beyond, and homebasics, a magazine absolutely filled with recipes, fun ideas for family and GROCERY store coupons! Best of all, it's all free!

Have you seen ads mentioning something called Upromise but didn't know what it was? It's an organization, free, that helps you save some money for your kids' college, or pay off your own student loans. We don't make a lot of money at it, but we so far we do get about $50 a year in an account. Multiply that times 18 years and that's a significant chunk of change to pay for books! It works by registering your debit and/or credit cards and whenever you shop with a Upromise merchant partner, that merchant gives a percentage of your purchase to your Upromise account. You can even have it emptied into a 529 college savings plan. I tend to be a cynic, and somewhat of a conspiracy theorist (I prefer the term realist!) and was uncomfortable with joining for a while, so we didn't. I was thinking it's just another way for the government and whoever else to know what we are purchasing. But once I started realizing that unless you pay cash for EVERYTHING, they already know. Checks aren't even safe as far as that's concerned. So then I figured, we may as well benefit since they know anyway! If you join and do any online shopping, then you should install their RemindU onto your computer. It doesn't really take any space, takes just a second or two to download, and it automatically registers your purchase with Upromise if you are on a partner site, so you don't have to worry about remember to shop through the Upromise links first.

Ever wonder if those as-seen-on-tv gadgets really work? Thinking about buying one? Don't until you look here!

Favorite Stores you may not know about:

Don't forget to check out my SAHMs n WAHMs store, where you can find recommended books and more fun stuff, as well as apparel and other products for stay-at-home and work-at-home parents!

BabyCenter is a great place to find all sorts of products for parents and babies, as well as young children: BabyCenter store

If you love taking pictures of your family, and want to share them but don't know how, then Snapfish is the place for you. It's free to join and share photos! I've been using them for years, and love them! You can even make gifts out of your pictures and send them to family and friends. It's where we get our holiday photo cards every winter, too!

And one of my favorites: Betty Crocker. Hope you've been saving those Betty Crocker points! You're going to want them when you see all these great products!

Need some plants, seeds or bulbs? Other than our local garden stores, which I "bug" on a regular basis since I still am new to all this, here's my two favorite places to buy things. I can tell you that I was skeptical at first, but if you look at their zone map and order plants that are supposed to live in your area, they really will! They look like twigs at first, but then really start blooming! It's amazing! And better yet, there's a one-year guarantee if they die! (Just save your shipping labels!) You usually can't beat the prices, especially the 1 cent sales!

eBay! is a great way to make and/or save money. I use it to sell and buy. And I LOVE it! I started out in ebay not having a clue what I was doing, but you can get the hang of it pretty quick. They have great tech support and FAQs, as well as forums, if you need more help. See my Ebay page for more information.

Motherwear.com is my favorite store to buy nursing clothes and bras. The quality is superb and lasts. I wore nursing shirts and dresses most of the time with my daughter, so breastfeeding in public (which I did often and anywhere!) was very easy.

Maternity Mall is a great place to find maternity clothes and other things for you, and nursing clothes after baby comes!

BabyUniverse.com is a great store, and the best in my opinion to buy the Britax line of carseats (also the best, in my opinion, once baby has graduated from the infant carseat/carrier) -- they usually have some kind of sale on them, free shipping and a great selection.

Baby Age (BabyAge Home Page - 468 x 60 - NEW!) is another wonderful site with a great selection of products, and great all-around shipping prices.

One Step Ahead is definitely one of my favorites! They have so many neat items, especially for safety, and I've had good experience with returns.
